In this lesson you will discuss the purpose of a narrative build-up. You will then re-watch a clip from the film ‘Whale Rider’ and describe the characters’ actions. Please note that the death of a mother and brother are briefly mentioned in this lesson. If this is a sensitive topic for your child, please make sure they are adequately supervised. There are also stills from a film clip which feature some violence in the context of a Maori tradition.
